Designed in a moment of financial despair (thanks to severe cuts in state funding in the 1980s) this ad campaign is unarguably one of Saatchi’s most significant contributions to the arts and to cultural marketing in England.
Nowadays as gift shops and coffees are major earners and often favoured by visitors over the art on display it might be argued whether this campaign maybe was just way ahead of its time.
To commemorate this key moment in history of cultural marketing, Available Works invites you for a standing tea reception in front of the V&A on Thursday, October 14th* as a cure to the art fair overdose.
